John Yelland is an Etobicoke, Toronto native and started playing string bass in Grade 6, and electric bass a year later. Studied, graduated and then taught at Humber College in Toronto. He has been a professional musician for over 40 years. He has performed around the world with Filo Machado (Brasil), Morris Albert (Feelings), Robben Ford, John Abercrombie, Tinsley Ellis, Lorne Lofsky, Larry Coryell, Mick Goodrich, Ronnie Earl, Nelson Ned (Brasil), Claudia de Columbia, John Arpin, the Niagara Symphony, Kay Lyra, and many others from South and Central America, Sri Lanka, India and Iran. He continues to perform and write music in Toronto. He loves windsurfing, asa delta and travelling the world.
